Welcome felllow News Tweet readers to Newstweeters.com. My name is Paul Collier and I am the Publisher and Founder of Newstweeters.com (yay me!).
A little bit about me- I am a Freedom Loving Christ Follower with the Kingdom of God at the core of everything I do. That is pretty much the core of who I am and what motives me.
That is an actual picture of me, and, as you can see, I am behind bars.I was not, nor have I ever been, in jail, though a lot of my progressive opponents would love to see me retire to a nice ‘state run’ facility.
While I am not actually in jail, I am also not exactly free, even though I live in America, the ‘land of the free’. I feel so strongly about my lack of freedom that I have decided to take up my own cause. So I’ve created a twitter account, @freepaulcollier and even my own Facebook Group, Free Paul Collier Support Group. I blog about my lack of freedom at freepaulcollier.com. I video blog about my lack of freeodm on Youtube at FreePaulCollier. I post my poetry (yes, I write poems) on micropoetics.com
I have been involved in news for 10+ years and publishing for over 20+ years. I began my publishing career with a short-lived Poetry Magazine called THE GREEN HERRING (Because a red herring is JUST not enough of a misdirection) in 1990.
My Identical Twin and fellow Freedomist, Bill Collier (He’s the Editor in Chief of this site also), pulled me into news publishing back in 2001 when we started creating local newspapers in the Central Pa area (our hometown area- born and raised in Harrisburg, Pa- represent Allison Hill!).
Both my brother, Bill Collier, and I, were an integral part of the #DONTGO movement, the movement that launched a series of events and movements which led to #TCOT on Twitter and the Tea Party Movement (see two members of our Freedomist network- topconservativesontwitter.com and teapartcourier.com).
In 2008, I began our first Freedom-focused blog, blog.freedomist.info, one of the ugliest blogs of all time (and you can still see it- oh what fun!). We leave it up for archival reasons. This little, ugly blog broke the story on Nancy Pelosi and T Boone Pickens that catapulted the #DONTGO movement to national prominence.
With that little, ugly (yeah, I can’t say that enough) blog as our base, Bill and I interviewed some future key leaders in congress, leaders that would emerge as Tea Party proponents, people like Jim Demint and Mike Pence, on our blogtalkradio show called The 57th State (those in the know are familiar with that Obama reference).
The little, ugly blog became Freedomist.com, our first news magazine, news portal site. We gathered news, mostly political, did our own investigative reporting, and worked hard to promote the Freedomist cause. We broke the story on Karl Rove trying to bribe the Tea Party to not rally for Christine O’Donnel against Mike Castle, getting a mention by el Rushbo himself for that one.
Since then, we’ve expanded our web publishing empire and now have over 100 news and blog sites that we either directly publish or have joined our Freedomist network, a gathering of web publishers devoted to promoting the cause of freedom from the local to the international level.
Everything I do is to contribute to the cause of Freedom as defined by my God, the God of Abraham, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I seek to shed light on causes, information, events, technologies that either advance or threaten the Freedom of religion, Freedom to be Sovereign, Freedom of Speech, and Freedom to prosper. While Newstweeters does not directly cover Christian Freedom, this site is intended to serve our (Christ followers) commitment to serve the natural world. So even this venture is centered in my commitment to serve and extend the Kingdom of God (we are working on creating a purely Christian counterpart to Newstweeters called Christiannewstweets.com that directly serves Christ Followers).
